Switching From Creative to Survival: Changing Game Modes in Minecraft
Switching from Creative mode to Survival mode in Minecraft is allowed so that players can play in their favorite gameplay anytime they want. By switching, players may encounter difficulties while gathering resources, crafting and building as Minecraft Survival Mode is harder than the Creative mode.
Bedrock Edition
Bedrock is the Latest Edition of Minecraft specially developed for the Android Users. You can easily switch your game mode from Creative to Survival while playing using a command: /gamemode survival. It can switch you from Creative to Survival.
Java Edition
Java Edition is the original and PC version of Minecraft. It uses different commands to get the target. For switching from Minecraft Creative Mode to Survival Mode while playing, you can use the following commands.

Pocket Edition (PE)

Xbox/Nintendo
Players can easily switch from creative mode to survival in Minecraft Xbox edition and Nintendo switch edition using a command in the chat box. Use the following command: /gamemode s. Press D-pad right for chat window on Xbox and right arrow button on Nintendo.
Education Edition
Besides two editions of Minecraft, players can also switch to survival from creative mode in Minecraft Education Edition. Education Edition is basically the latest version of Minecraft that allows players to learn with fun utilizing the crafting skills in terms of blocks. If you are playing in the Creative mode in Education Edition, you can switch to Survival from Creative in two different ways. Press T key on keyboard to open the chat window in Education Edition.
1st Way
You can use a gaming command as like in other two editions for switching. Open Chat by pressing “T” and type the following command: /gamemode survival. This will switch your game from Creative to Survival.
2nd Way
If you are playing in a Creative mode of Minecraft and want to switch to Survival mode, follow these steps without using any command.
- Press ESC while playing and open the pause menu.
- Click on “Settings”.
- Click on the “Game” tab.
- Tap on “Game Mode” under the Game tab.
- For switching, click on the Survival Mode option.
- Click on “Done”.
- Return to the game.
