Farming pumpkins in Minecraft is not too hard but not too easy. You have to use different techniques for the growth of pumpkins and building a pumpkin farm is on top among them. You can grow your own pumpkins and harvest them anytime you want. For gathering seeds of pumpkins, you can either find them out in the chests or crafting the whole pumpkins. It has many uses as you can create pumpkin helmets, golems, pumpkin pies and even use it for trading purposes with other villagers. So, let’s build a pumpkin farm using the material listed below

  • A Hopper
  • Eight Pistons
  • Six Observers
  • Bucket of Water
  • Two Chests
  • One Hoe

  • Eight Pieces of Redstone Dust
  • Six Pumpkin Seeds
  • Building Blocks

Step 1: Create Base

For first building the pumpkin farm, you have to create a base. Mine has an area of 8 blocks.

Step 2: Dig L Shaped Hole

After that, dig an L shape hole at one end of the base mined in the first step.

Step 3: Place Chests

In this step, place two chests on the end of the hole. The point you place chests should be 2 blocks deep.

Step 4: Place Water

Now in this step, pour a bucket of water into the 8 blocks hole from the other side.

Step 5: Plant the Pumpkins

In this step, firstly use hoe for tilling the blocks alternatively with a gap of 1 block. After that plant pumpkin seeds on the tilled areas.

Step 6: Place Observers

Now after planting the pumpkin seeds, place observers behind each tilled block. After that place pistons onto the observers. These pistons push your pumpkin seed into the water.

Now, after planting the seeds, it’s time to automate the farm. Place solid blocks behind each of the observers.
